03.29.07 - The Foresters got off to a good start in conference play by sweeping Indiana Wesleyan University 10-3 and 2-0.

In the opener, HU (8-9, 2-0) jumped out to a 4-0 lead, but the Wildcats plated three in the bottom of the fourth to pull within one.  The Foresters answered by scoring six more runs over the final three innings to put the game away. Andrew Drummond and Jon Rolon both had two hits and two RBI to lead HU's offense.  Drew Taylor moved to 5-0 on the season with another complete game victory.  He gave up three runs on seven hits and three walks while striking out one.

In the nightcap, Eric Randel pitched a three hit shutout and struck out five to pick up his first win of the season.  Both teams were still scoreless heading into the sixth inning when HU scored the only two runs of the game.  Thad Frame led off the inning with a single and he scored on an Alex Rinearson double.  Jason Rahn, who was pinch running for Rinearson, advanced to third on a single from Andy Janzen and then scored on a Korey Grow single to complete the scoring. Frame was the lone Forester with two hits in the game.

"It is always nice to win the first two conference games on the road," said Coach Frame. "IWU has a nice team and we were fortunate to win both games. Drew pitched well enough in the first game and Eric was outstanding in the second game. We still have not begun to hit like we think we can, but we had some timely hits tonight."
