04.10.07 - The Foresters' 5-4 and 11-1 victories over Goshen College moved HU above the .500 mark at 12-11 for the season and 6-2 in conference play.

In game one, the Foresters pushed three across in the bottom of the second, but Goshen got two back in the top of the third.  HU made it 4-2 in their half of third, but couldn't hold it as the Maple Leafs evened the score with two in the fifth.  In the bottom of the sixth, the Foresters were able to manufacture the game-winner.  Zach Crooks reached on a walk and was replaced by pinch runner, Ryan Shell. Keith Benbow moved Shell to second with a sacrifice bunt.  An out and a walk later, Thad Frame's fly ball was dropped which allowed Shell to score.

For HU, six different players had a hit with Benbow having the only one for extra bases with a double.  Josh Clark earned his first win of the season for the Foresters.  He went six and two-thirds innings and allowed four runs on three hits and three walks while striking out six.  Benbow came on in relief of Clark in the seventh and recorded the final out for the save.

In the nightcap, HU ran away with the 11-1 win.  After throwing a one-hitter in his last outing, Levi Sell again had a dominant performance on the mound for the Foresters. He allowed just one run on three hits and three walks while striking out three to earn the complete game victory.

The Foresters gave Sell a great cushion to work with scoring six runs in their first at-bat.  Goshen scored its only run in the second, but HU immediately got it back in the bottom of the frame.  The Foresters added two more in both the fourth and fifth to bring the game to an early close.

Alex Rinearson was a perfect 4-4 at the plate with two RBI and two runs scored and Andy Janzen went 3-3 with a run scored and one driven in for the Foresters.

"We have been challenging our team to approach each day with more focus," said Coach Frame. "Today we were focused and persevered, even though we did not play well. We will take the focus and perseverance because we will eventually begin to play consistently well. Our players are too talented and too competitive for that to not happen."
