03.12.08 - The Foresters picked up their first win of the spring with a 3-2 victory over the NAIA 20th-ranked Tigers of Campbellsville University in the first game of the twinbill.  HU then dropped the second game 8-2 to finish with a split.

In the opener, the Foresters took the early lead in the second inning on a two-run jack by HU's designated hitter Adam Farris.  The Foresters then added the eventual game-winner in the third on a RBI double by Korey Grow. Campbellsville got two back in the bottom of the sixth, but Grow came on in relief of Michael Dalton for the final inning and earned the save.

Farris led HU with two hits and two RBI in the game.  Dalton evened his record at 1-1 on the season with the win.  He went six innings and allowed two runs on three hits and four walks while striking out six.

In the nightcap, the Tigers stuck first with a run in the bottom of the third. The Foresters quickly evened things up with one in the top of the fourth.  Campbellsville then got a three-run shot from Brandon Hunter and a total of five runs in the bottom of the fifth to blow the game open.  HU got one back in the sixth, but the Tigers put the game away with two more in their half of the sixth.

Despite Campbellsville committing four errors in the game, the Foresters couldn't capitalize.  The Tigers out-hit HU 12-5 in the contest.  No one had more than one hit for the Foresters.  Drew Taylor (0-1) took the loss for HU.  He pitched four and a third innings and gave up six runs on 10 hits and a walk and he struck out five.
