04.12.08 - The Foresters held an early lead in both games of a doubleheader with Marian College only to have the Knights swipe both games in their final at-bat as HU lost 8-7 and 11-10.

In the opener, the Foresters were up 4-1 after two at-bats, but Marian evened things up by the bottom of the third.  HU again forged ahead with two runs in the fifth only to allow the Knights to knot the score at 6-6 at the end of six.  The Foresters again battled for a run in the top of the seventh, but for the third time failed to make the lead stick.  The Knights put together three hits to plate two in their half of the frame for the hard-fought win.

Korey Grow (1-3) pitched the final inning and a third in the loss for HU.  He allowed two runs on four hits while striking out one.  Alex Rinearson led the Foresters at the plate with three hits.  Edwin Rodriguez took team-high honors with two RBI.

Game two was a continuation of the seesaw battle from the first game.

Again HU took the early lead at 9-4 after three complete innings of play.  Neither team scored in the fourth and the Foresters made it 10-4 with a run in the top of the fifth, but Marian was just getting started.  The Knights plated four in the bottom of the fifth and then knotted the score at 10-10 with two more in the sixth.  With two outs in the seventh, Marian loaded the bases without a hit and then got the game-winning single from Chad Morris.

Avery Simonds (1-1), who came on in relief in the seventh, took the loss.  He allowed a run on one hit and two walks. Grow and Rodriguez both had three hits in the game to lead the Forester offense.  Adam Farris led HU with three RBI.
