04.30.08 - The Foresters got two dramatic wins on opening day of the Mid-Central Conference tournament to remain the only unbeaten team as they head into day two.  HU (28-12) knocked off Indiana Wesleyan in the opener 5-3 and then took down Taylor 6-4 in 10 innings.

Against Indiana Wesleyan in the opener, the Foresters were down 3-2 heading into the top of the ninth.  With two outs and two strikes on the batter, Keith Benbow delivered a single in the hole between first and second to drive in the tying run.  Austan Kas then drove in two more with a double to right-center to give HU a 5-3 lead.  HU's Drew Taylor got the complete game victory by holding the Wildcats scoreless in the bottom of the frame.

The Foresters then met Taylor in the winner's bracket on Wednesday evening. HU took a 2-0 lead early, but a Trojan homerun in the eighth evened the score. HU notched another run in the ninth, but Taylor managed a two-out single to knot the score again forcing the game into an extra inning of play.

The Foresters pushed three runs across in their half of the tenth inning.  The Trojans again made things interesting by scoring a run and loading the bases with two outs in the inning.  This time Korey Grow slammed the door shut with a game-ending strikeout.
