03.24.09 - The Foresters opened their MCC conference schedule in convincing fashion by sweeping Goshen College 11-0 and 12-1.

HU's Drew Taylor pitched a one-hit shutout in the opener and got plenty of offense to bring the game to an early close at the end of five innings.  Taylor only allowed one free pass and struck out six in his five innings of work.

Eric Schultz led the Foresters at the plate with three hits including a double.  He also scored two runs and drove in two.  Edwin Rodriguez continued to show his muscle at the plate belting his third homerun in four games and knocking in three runs.

In the nightcap, the Foresters picked up where they left off at the plate.  HU pounded out 15 hits with six of them for extra bases.  Rodriguez sent another one deep for the third straight game and four in his last five contests.  Rodriguez, Andrew Drummond and Cody Richey each had three RBI to lead the team.

Mitch Bowers picked up the win for HU.  He threw six innings and allowed a run on six hits and a walk while striking out six.

With the two wins, HU moves above the .500 mark with a 9-8 record.
