03.07.09 - The Foresters collected 18 hits and scored in each of the seven innings to rout the Trolls of Trinity Christian 17-6 in their second game of the Missouri Baptist tournament.

HU scored once in the first and the second, but gave one back to Trinity Christian in the bottom of the second.  The Foresters plated three in the third with two of the runs coming on a double by Eric Schultz.

In the fourth, HU pushed across four more with Justin Branock delivering the a two-run double and then made it 10-1 with another run in the top of the fifth.  The Trolls got five back in their half of the fifth, but the Foresters added three more in the sixth and four in the seventh for the 17-6 victory.

Schultz paced HU at the plate with five hits in six at-bats that included a double and a homerun and he drove in six runs in the winning effort.  Eric Randel earned the win for the Foresters allowing six runs on 10 hits and two walks while striking out three.

In HU's final game of the tournament, Missouri Baptist University took care of business quickly downing the Foresters 14-2 in five innings.

The Spartans put three on the board in the first and third and plated eight in the fourth for a commanding 14-1 lead.  HU picked up one more in the top of the fifth, but could get no closer.

Drew Taylor took the loss for the Foresters.  He allowed 10 runs on nine hits and a walk, while striking out two.  HU's defense committed three errors in the contest that led to five unearned MBU runs.  No one had more than one hit in the game for the Foresters.

With the split, HU moves to 2-6 on the season.
