04.04.09 - After taking two from Marian College on the road on Thursday, the Foresters earned their first four-game MCC sweep of the season by knocking off the Knights 10-1 and 6-4.

HU took command of the first game with a five-run third. After giving one back in the top of the fourth, the Foresters came back with two in their half of the frame and then put the game out of reach with three more in the sixth.

Eric Randel got the complete-game victory for HU. He allowed one run on three hits and two walks while striking out two. Justin Branock led the Foresters with a double and homerun in the game and Travis Frantz finished with three RBI.

In game two, both teams scored a run in the fourth and Marian picked up two more in the top of the fifth. The Foresters immediately responded with four in the bottom of the fifth and added an insurance run in the sixth.  The Knights got one in their final at-bat, but the rally attempt ended there.

Will Barone, who came on in relief of starter Anthony Roth, earned the win.  He threw an inning and a third and allowed one hit and a walk.  Frantz relieved Barone with two-outs in the sixth and picked up the save.

Branock stayed hot at the plate with two more hits in the game to give him a 4-6 performance on the day.  He also drove in a game-high two runs in the nightcap.

The Foresters move to 16-11 on the season and 9-3 in the MCC with the two victories.
