Tryouts were held in May and September. During those tryouts candidates were judged on their abilities, attitudes and excitement. The 2009-2010 squad will consist of 9 girls and 5 guys. If you are interested in trying out for the 2010-2011 squad please click on Tryouts '11. We are looking for dedicated men & women! This year we have 9 returners: Anna Farmer, Matt Friedlund, Lauren Funicelli, Andrew Goodwin, Katie Sroufe, Jordan Steele, Cassie Screeton, Ashley Upchurch and Holly Wagner. Our new members include Ryan Austin, Rachel Batdorff Ashley Burson, Jessica Pasho and Derek Yocum. All of these members will be very important to the 2009-2010 squad. Practices began in September. Practices included conditioning, stunting, learning cheers/chants, tumbling, motions, etc. As a team we started with the basics and then moved forward. Practices are fun but always challenging. On October 10th we attended a group camp at Ball State University. The team worked on cheers, chants, stunts and gymnastics. On Oct. 24th some of the members also attended an in-house camp where Ball State University came to demonstrate partner stunting. Both of these camps helped the squad not only improve on stunts but also get to know each other. Games begin on November 3rd. The squad will also be hosting their annual cheer clinic in November. This event will be held from 8:30-11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 21st. We are hoping for our biggest turn out yet. Last year we had over 60 kids from the ages of 4-14 who came to learn material that morning and then they demonstrated it later that afternoon at the men's b-ball game.
