Both cross country teams finished third in their respective races at the
Bowling Green Invitational on Saturday. In the men's meet, Cedarville
University took the team championship with 21 points followed by Siena
Heights University with 54 and the Foresters with 62. Cody Hannie was the top
finisher for HC with a fourth place finish in 26:23, with Joseph Waithira
crossing the line right behind him in 26:38. John Kagwanja placed 21st in
28:31 followed by Ross Luckett (23rd, 28:42), David St. Louis (25th, 29:05),
Craig Perry (37th, 30:50), and Dan Schaber (38th, 32:20).
On the women's side, the University of Findlay
won the meet with 27 points, Siena Heights was second with 28, and HC was
third with 80. For the Foresters, Brittany Harvey was 13th in 20:34 followed
by Molly Andrews (16th, 20:57), Leah Birkey (18th, 21:11), Emily Sealscott
(19th, 21:16), Julie Clawson, (22nd, 21:40), Stephanie Stoffel (26th, 23:04),
and Vanessa Wilkins (23:41). "It was a pretty good run for both our men
and women," said Coach King. "We ran about where our training would
indicate. We have quite a challenge ahead with the competition we chose to
run against every year." |
