The Foresters competed in the 2006 Greater Louisville Classic on the
weekend. The field included NCAA Division I, Division II and NAIA
programs.
The men finished 10th of 12 NAIA schools and
34th of 36 teams from all divisions. The women also finished 10th among
NAIA competition and were 30th of 31 overall.
In the men's 8K run, Joseph Njeri was HU's top
finisher crossing in 111th place with a time of 26:29.06. He was
followed by Nick Johnson (114th, 26:30.88), Dan Lindbloom (172nd, 27:06.48),
Cody Hannie (190th, 27:22.51), Luke Diehl (219th, 27:50.41), Michael Lehman
(224th, 28:00.76) and Luke Andrews (231st, 28:15.70). The University of
Louisville took the team title with a score of 51. HU was 34th with 806
points.
The women's 5K race was won by Georgia Tech
with a score of 83. The Foresters tallied 825 points in 30th place.
Molly Andrews was HU's top runner in the event with her 143rd place in
20:08.36 followed by Ashley Buck (159th, 20:28.63), Emily Holliday (172nd,
20:49.55), Jill Roughia (174th, 20:57.66), Vanessa Macias (177th, 21:00.50)
and Laura Bowman (199th, 21:50.42).
