11.06.07 - After placing third in Saturday's NAIA Region VIII Championship behind second-ranked Aquinas and fourth-ranked Cornerstone, the Foresters jumped from 20th to 13th in yesterday's final cross country ranking.  The move up earned them one of the 14 at-large berths in the NAIA National Championship on November 17 in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

The Forester men last competed as a team for a national championship in the fall of 1999.  Led by NAIA All-American John Ngure, HU placed sixth in the event.

Three NAIA All-Region runners, junior Nick Johnson, sophomore Joseph Njeri and freshman Tobias Sauter, will pace the Foresters this time.  Johnson, who earned an individual berth in last year's championship, will look to put his experience and knowledge of the course to good use.

Also competing for HU will be juniors Luke Andrews, Michael Lehman and Dan Lindbloom and sophomore Luke Diehl.
