The Forester men’s
and women's cross country teams competed in the Indiana Intercollegiate meet
held at Purdue University on Friday.
In the
men's race, HU made a strong showing finishing 12th of 23 teams overall and
seventh of 17 small schools participating in the event. The Foresters were
led by Joseph Njeri's 21st place finish in 25:55. Nick Johnson was 33rd
with a time of 26:20, followed by Dan Lindbloom (61st, 26:48), Luke Diehl
(84th, 27:14), Michael Lehman (91st, 27:25), Luke Andrews (133rd, 28:26),
Nick Hindes (153rd, 29:21) and Josh Barnett (140th, 32:29).
Indiana
State won the overall meet with a score of 47 and Southern Indiana was the
top small school team with a score of 55.
On the
women's side, HU finished 20th overall and 13th in the small school division.
Jill Roughia paced HU with her 114th place finish in 20:59. She was
followed by Bradie Vance (127th, 21:22), Ashley Buck (129th, 21:27), Ali
Shideler (144th, 22:00), Michelle Kyler (146th, 22:11) and Joanna Stebing
(161st, 25:12).
Purdue won the women’s championship with a score of 49 and DePauw took the
small school title with 42 points.
