Men’s Cross Country
Optimism abounds for
the men’s cross country team as three of the top six runners return from
a team that finished 10th at the NAIA Cross Country National
Championship last fall. Coach Tom King will look for leadership from
two returning MCC All-Conference harriers, senior
Joseph Njeri and sophomore Joseph Herber.
Eight new freshmen
will add depth to the Foresters’ roster. Leading the way are Lance
Wood (Waterville, OH), Daniel Becker (Britton, MI), Nathan Rupp (Berne,
IN) and Ethan Medley (Fayetteville, NC).
With the squad’s experience
and incoming talent, Coach King has high hopes for this season. The Foresters look forward to
competing for a return trip to the national tournament.
Women’s Cross
Country
Last season the women’s cross country
competed hard but finished eighth in the MCC. Returning runners
Bradie Vance and Krystal McHenry hope to turn things around this year.
Joining their efforts will be several talented newcomers. Lauren
(Davenport) Johnson is no stranger to HU. She was a track NAIA
All-American last spring and is looking make her cross country
debut this season. The Foresters will also rely on transfer Emilee
Green and freshman Abbey Wise to make an early impact on the team.
