After spending a portion of his collegiate
athletic career as a member of the Huntington University cross country and
track and field teams, Tobias Sauter has continued to pursue his passion for
running and is making a name for himself among the elite in his sport.
Sauter
will be competing in the marathon at the IAAF World Championships in
Athletics in Berlin, Germany later this week. The former Forester ran a
personal best of 2:17.27 earlier this year, less than nine minutes off the
IAAF World Championship marathon record. He is scheduled to run this
Friday, August 22, at 11:45 a.m.
Sauter
came to Huntington University from Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany for the
2007-08 academic year. As a Forester he helped lead the cross country team
to a 12th place finish at the NAIA National Championships in 2007 and he
earned NAIA First Team All-America honors with a fourth place finish in the
5000 meter at the 2008 Indoor Track and Field National Championships. |
