Cross Country Meet

Race Start Times
Men’s 8k 11:00am
Women’s 5k 12:00pm
There will be an announcement indicating
that there is 10 minutes
until the start of each race.
Course
We are guests at the Whiffletree Hills
Golf Course. Please
communicate with your athletes, parents and spectators asking
them to follow the wishes of the owners and remain off the
golf greens and stay off the course until 9:00 am to avoid frost
damage to grass. Also please stay clear of the practice putting
green near the start/finish area.
Parking
There will be a $5 charge for parking in
the lot next to the club
house. (This is the main entrance off of M-60) Handicap parking
will not be charged. Team bus parking will be at the factory
on the corner of M60 and 30mile road on the West side of the
course but athletes can be dropped off at the main entrance. There
will be a $5 charge for spectators parking in the lot the team
buses are parking. There is NO PARKING to occur on M-60.
This is a very heavily traveled route and a couple years ago
during a high school race there was a spectator fatality. Parking i
s limited but there is plenty of overflow parking that can occur
on 30 Mile road. There is access to the course from 30 Mile
road on the west side of the course. (See Map Below)
Practice Time
The course will be open for team practice
Friday Nov 7th,
from 2:00pm until 5:00pm. We will
have staff at the course
to answer any questions along with maps during the practice time.
We will include a map in the coach’s packet for the teams
arriving Saturday morning.
Coach’s Meeting
There will be a brief coach’s meeting at
the Start/Finish
area Sat. Nov 8th,
at 9:45am.
Packet Pick up
Packets will be available for pick up
Friday Nov 7th
during
practice time and Saturday Nov 8th
at the coaches meeting at
the Start/Finish area.
Results
Results will be available online at
www.arbor.edu
and each
coach will have a copy provided to them. Results will be handed
out at the awards ceremony at 1:45pm.
Awards Ceremony/Fellowship Dinner
Awards will take place immediately
following the
fellowship dinner. The fellowship dinner will start at
1:45pm. This dinner has a short program to facilitate team
sharing and interaction. If you have ideas for this please
share them.
Fellowship Dinner
Fazoli’s will be catering our fellowship
dinner. Due to not
having a kitchen on site they will be bringing all the food
and beverages in from off site. Therefore it is crucial that all
teams RSVP. When your team RSVP’s your numbers
Fazolis has asked for a specific number for those choosing
lasagna. Please have your final numbers and list of those
choosing lasagna by October 29th.

We will make allotment for 30 or
so meal tickets for basic pasta the day of the event. Please
do not count on this for ALL the parents. The cost is $5.50
per person and can be paid when at packet pick up. Tickets
for the number you RSVP will be included in your packet.
Shower facility
Showers will be available after the races
at Spring Arbor
University field house. These locker rooms will need to be
cleared by the start of the banquet due to needing them for
home men’s and women’s basketball games.
