- Despite having to battle adverse weather conditions and a
challenging Meshingomeshia course, the Foresters tied for fifth with
Cedarville with a two-day total of 621. It was HU's best
performance ever at the Indiana Wesleyan Invitational.
Andrew Porterfield, who played his last
four holes three under par, paced the Foresters with a one over par
145, the third best score in the tournament. His effort also
earned him a spot on the All-Tournament team. Justin Imel and
Dan Knuth each shot a 159. Spencer Batt had a 162, and Ryan
Bonner added a 166 for HU. "I am so happy for Andrew to earn a
spot on the All-Tournament Team in his last performance in
his hometown," said Coach Schownir. "We picked each other up
both days and hung in there after some bad starts in the second round.
We still have some work to do but we're getting closer."
Marian took the tournament title with a
593. Indiana Wesleyan was second with a 602 followed by Bethel
(613) Lindenwood (615) HU and Cedarville (621), Marian B team (639)
and Lindenwood B team (647). |
