06.23.05 - For the second year in a row, Huntington University golf coach Pete Schownir has earned a spot in the Indiana Open.  He shot a 77 in a qualifying round at Chestnut Hills GC in Fort Wayne on June 17.  Schownir was one of 21 players out of a field of 53 to make the cut to move on to the Open, which will be played July 11-14 at Stonehenge GC in Warsaw.

In last year's Open held at the Kampen Course at Purdue University, Schownir shot an 82 in the first round and an 83 in the second.  Although he failed to make the cut, he gained valuable experience which should help him the second time around.
