Facing a very talented field in their season opener, a very young Forester
squad finished fifteenth in a field of 16 at the Olivet College
Classic. The four sophomores and one freshman posted a 666 in the
two-day tournament. Bethel College won the Classic with a team score of
610.
Sophomore Spencer Batt posted the Foresters'
best score with an 81
on Friday day and an 82 on Saturday for a 163.
Sophomore Ryan Bonner was second at 165
(85, 80). Classmate Justin Imel turned in a 169 (85, 84), and freshman
Jeff McVicker (85, 85) and sophomore Dan Schroeder (84, 86) each shot
a 170.
"This performance is definitely not a
true indicator of the talent on this team," said Coach Green.
"This was played on an extremely challenging golf course that they had
never seen."
