Sophomore Ryan Bonner led the golf team to a fourth place tie at the
two-day Indiana Wesleyan Fall Invitational. Bonner shot an
opening round 78 and followed that up with a 71 on Saturday for a
two-day total of 149, four strokes behind medalist Stephen Ford of
Marian. "Ryan is really maturing into a fine college golfer,"
said Coach Green. "He played great today."
The host Wildcats won the event with a
team score of 604 followed by Marian (605), Cornerstone (613), HU,
Spring Arbor and Lindenwood's B team (623), Lindenwood's A team (625),
Taylor (639) and St. Francis (672).
Behind Bonner for HU was Justin Imel
with a 155 (79, 76), Spencer Batt with a 156 (79, 77) and Patrick
Davis (84, 81) and Jeff McVicker (82, 83) with a 165.
"Overall I am pleased with our improving scores," said Coach Green.
"Our second day score of 305 was right there with the best teams in
the conference." The men's record now stands at 6-24-2 on the
season. |
