03.27.07 - Cory Powell, a product of Mississinewa High School, has signed a letter of intent to play golf at Huntington University next year.  As a junior last season, Powell finished with a 39.85 stroke average.  He was the Central Indiana Conference champion having shot a 32 for the rain-shortened nine-hole tournament.  He also won the Lakeview Invitational with a 72.  In Sectional play, he shot a 79 and followed that up with a 77 in the Regional.

Huntington University golf coach, Mark Green, is looking forward to Powell’s contributions.  "I am thrilled to have Cory join our golf program at Huntington,” said Green.  “Cory will fit right in with our team chemistry and he should be able to contribute right away as a freshman.  It's been great getting to know Cory and his family, and I am confident that he will be a great attribute to Huntington University."
