04.19.08 - Ten NAIA Region VIII teams met at Rock Hollow Golf Club for a tune-up match on the course where next week's regional tournament will be held.  The Foresters finished third with a 607, just seven strokes behind Marian College who won the event with a 600.  Bethel was second with a 603.

Justin McMillen paced HU with a 147 (75, 72), which was third on the list of individual scores.  Justin Imel was right behind him with a 148 (73, 75).  Ryan Bonner shot a 156 (79, 77), Cory Powell had a 157 (79, 78) and Spencer Batt finished with a 160 (83, 77).

Rounding out the team scoring was Davenport in fourth (621) followed by Indiana Wesleyan (622), Madonna (623), Spring Arbor (625), Cornerstone (631), St. Francis (646) and Siena Heights (671).

"We had a very good start and stayed even par as a team for the first 13 holes," said Coach Green.  "We were 13 over par on the final five holes, so we have got to learn how to maintain our focus and finish much stronger.  It kind of feels like we gave this tournament away, but I do feel like we have a little momentum on our side as we head into our regional tournament.  It's good to see our scores continue to drop this season.  There were a lot of very good teams in this tournament, so to finish 3rd is something that we can gain a lot of confidence from."
