the host Pilots at the Bethel College Invitational.
HU shot a 287
to win the tournament followed by Bethel (288), Tri-State (296), St.
Francis (305), Holy Cross (322) and Goshen (347).
The match was a Ryder Cup format where each team played with seven
players instead of the usual five. Spencer Batt played as an
individual for the entire match and shot an 80, Justin McMillen and
Dan Schroeder played the alternate shot format and turned in a 76,
Ryan Bonner and Patrick Davis played a scramble and ended with a 68,
and Justin Imel and Cory Powell played their best ball score on each
hole and turned in a 63.
"Coming into this match I wasn't sure how the format would work out
for us, but the guys ended up having a lot of fun playing together,"
said Coach Green. "Justin Imel and Cory really shot lights out
playing the best ball format. They all did an excellent job on a
course that none of us had seen before." |
