Dan Schroeder
helped lead the Foresters to their third consecutive win and earned
medalist honors by shooting a 146 (74, 72) in the two-day University
of St. Francis Invitational.
HU shot a 597 to
take top honors in the tournament. Bethel was second at 600
followed by Marian (610), Spring Arbor (6130, St. Francis (630), Grace
(638), Urbana (644) and Taylor (654).
At the end of
round one which was played at Cobblestone Golf Club, HU was in second
place with a 301, six strokes behind Bethel College. Led by
Schroeder's even par 72 on day two at Noble Hawk Golf Links, the
Foresters shot a 296, nine strokes better than the Pilots to win the
Invitational.
Following Schroeder
was Patrick Davis who tied for sixth overall with back-to-back rounds
of 76 for a 152, Justin Imel (80-75--155), Justin McMillen
(78-79--157), Ryan Bonner (85-73--158) and Spencer Batt (73-85--158).
"Everyone
contributed in our scoring, so it was a total team victory", said
Coach Green. "Dan and Patrick played excellent golf. There's no
way we win this match without their consistent effort on both days." |
