After
finishing the first day with a one shot lead over the second place
team, the Foresters
again had trouble matching their scores on day two and finished third
of 10 teams.
For Friday's round,
the Foresters shot a 296 and were one stroke ahead of Cornerstone,
but Cornerstone blew away the field with an impressive 290 on
Saturday to claim the title. Indiana Wesleyan shot a 299 for a
597 total and HU ended with a 307 for a 603 to finish second and
third respectively. Bethel was fourth with a 604 followed Marian
(611), Spring Arbor (617), Lindenwood (632), Grace (635), Siena
Heights (640) and IU East (672).
Ryan Bonner's
consistency paced the Foresters as he turned in back-to-back scores
of 73 for a 146. Dan Schroeder had a 151 (74, 77), Justin Imel
posted a 153 (74, 79), Jordan Dawes finished with a 154 (75, 79) and
Cory Powell added a 160 (82, 78).
"We
had another great start to the tournament by shooting a 296 the
first day, but once again, we could not follow it up with a good
second day." |
