Head Coach Mark Green
Huntington University graduate Mark Green enters his second year as
head coach of the Forester golf program.
In his first season at the helm, Green led the team to
a third place
finish in the competitive MCC conference, the best finish by an HU
squad since 1990-91 when they won the conference title.
At the NAIA
Regional Meet, the team matched the program's best with a fourth
place finish, and an above .500 season record capped a quality start
to Green's coaching career.
As a
student-athlete for the Foresters, Green was a four-year letterwinner in both
soccer and track and field. While successful in both sports, he left his mark
in track and field. Upon his graduation, Green held both the Mid-Central
Conference and Huntington College records in the pole vault. His 15’0” vault
still stands in the college’s record books.
Since graduating from HU with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Physical
Education in 1994, Green gained experience in the coaching ranks as
an assistant in several Forester sports programs including
basketball, soccer, track
as well as
and three years as an assistant in the golf program. Currently,
Green
also serves as the Parks Superintendent in Columbia City where he,
his wife Joanne and their son Tyler reside.
