01.22.05 - The Indiana Wesleyan Wildcats surprised the NAIA 6th-ranked Foresters with an 84-74 upset at the Merillat Complex. Although the game was slightly delayed due to Indiana Wesleyan's bus problems, the Wildcats seized control of the game from the tip.  Two Lance Reutter field goals sandwiched around a Joel Tonagel 3-pointer gave IWU an immediate 7-0 lead and they never gave it up.  The Foresters' offense, seemingly stagnant after a week off, struggled early allowing the Wildcats to open up a 13-point lead at 20-7 midway through the half.  HC out-scored IWU 21-11 over the final nine minutes of the half to pull back within three at 33-30 at the break.  The Foresters kept it close early and were within one at 42-41 five minutes into the half, but a 16-2 Wildcat run buried HC.  A trey by James Haifley with :30 left to play brought HC to within eight at 80-72, but a couple free throws and a Wildcat layup gave IWU the lucrative win on the road.  Tonagel led the Wildcats in the victory with 25 points on 9-12 shooting, including 6-6 from downtown.  Steve Snider took top honors for the Foresters with 17 points.  Alex Kock added 15 points and a game-high nine rebounds for HC.  The loss drops the Foresters to 15-7 on the season and 7-2 in conference play.
