01.29.05 - After dropping consecutive games, the Foresters came up with an outstanding defensive performance to get themselves back in the win column, knocking off Taylor University 55-50.  HC's defense limited the Trojans to just five first half field goals on 25% shooting, and helped them build a 24-18 advantage at the break.  The Foresters continued to add to their lead early in the second half and were up 10 at 31-21 four minutes into the half.  Taylor battled back to within one at 39-38 with just under 10 minutes to play, but again HC's defense responded.  The Foresters held the Trojans to a single point over the next four minutes while scoring nine of their own to push the lead back up to 48-39.  A 3-pointer by Travis Johnson brought Taylor to within two at 52-50 with 22 second left, but the Foresters went 3-4 at the stripe to complete the sweep of the Trojans.  Alex Kock led the Foresters with 15 points in the game and Doug Sheckler added 13 points and a game-high nine rebounds.  Taylor's Mike Parsons took top scoring honors with his 16 points.  Eric Ford chipped in 13.  The win moves the Foresters back on top the MCC standings with their 8-3 record and brings them to 16-8 on the season.
