1.4.05 - A poor shooting performance by the 5th-ranked Foresters gave the Marian College Knights the edge they needed to pull off the 79-67 upset and hand HC its first MCC loss of the season.  The Knights' match-up zone forced the Foresters to the perimeter where they had a difficult time finding their range.  HC shot just 40% from the field for the game and were just 5-23 from behind the arc for 22%.  On the flip-side, Marian's shooters had the hot hand going 25-46 from the field for 54% and 6-13 from downtown for 46%. Marian grabbed an early 14-6 lead, but the Foresters battled back to take an 18-17 lead with just under eight minutes left in the half. Marian took back the lead at 21-20 on a pair of free throws by Tim Adams and never gave it up. HC's Kyle Ganton cut the lead to 29-26 just before the half, but Marian hit three of their four free throws in the final seconds of the half for the 32-26 lead. In the second half, the Foresters kept within striking distance early, but a 15-6 Knight run that gave Marian a 69-52 advantage with 3:32 left in game effectively put the game out of reach.  Three Foresters scored in double digits with Alex Kock and Kyle Ganton scoring 12 apiece while Doug Sheckler added 11.  Adams took game-high honors for the Knights with his 20 points and Jordan Dever added 19.  The loss drops HC to 12-6 on the season and 4-1 in the MCC.
