| 11.10.04 - The NAIA
Division II 3rd-ranked Huntington College Foresters (2-1) ran away
from the Purdue University Calumet Peregrines (1-2) 77-50 to pick up their
second win of the season. Huntington used a balanced offensive
effort, putting five in double figures, and a stingy defense that limited
Purdue Calumet to just 44 shot attempts in the game to pull off the victory.
The Peregrines remained within striking distance throughout the first half
and were only down eight at 52-44 with 7:21 left in the game. The
Foresters finally put the Purdue Calumet away with an 8-0 spurt over the next
three minutes and finished the game on a 22-4 run. Forester Alex Kock
took game-high honors with 16 points and grabbed a team-high 9 rebounds.
Kyle Ganton and Chase Verba each added 13 and Doug Sheckler and Steve snider
both finished with 11. Marquice Woods was the lone Peregrine to reach
double figures with 14 points to go along with his 15 rebounds. HC
improves to 2-1 on the season with the win.
