- It was opening night in the Mid-Central Conference and the Foresters
picked up a coveted road win defeating Indiana Wesleyan University 70-63.
HC took a 7-6 lead when Chase Verba hit one of two free throws at the 14:37
mark and gradually built to an 11-point margin at the break. In the
second half, the Foresters owned as much as a 14-point lead at 54-40 midway
through the period, but the Wildcats whittled it down to just four on two
Brandon McCorkle free throws with 2:37 left to play. On HC's next
possession, Kyle Ganton answered with two of his game-high 21 points and
ended Indiana Wesleyan's threat. Joining Ganton in double figures were
Alex Kock, who had 16 points and a game-high eight rebounds, Steve Snider
with 12 and Jared Yoder with 11. Jared Boser led five Wildcats in
double figures with 15. With the win the men improve to 6-3 on the
season and are 1-0 in conference play.
