11.24.04 - Fifteen first-half turnovers put the Foresters in a hole to deep to overcome as they fell 91-81 to the NCAA Division I IUPUI Jaguars.  The Jaguars scored 27 points off the Foresters’ numerous miscues and mounted a 19-point lead (55-36) at the half.  IUPUI had increased the lead to 23 early in the second half when the Foresters were finally able to put together a 17-4 run of their own to get back in the game.  HC’s Kyle Ganton was their catalyst scoring 13 points on a variety of short and long-range jumpers as well as a couple free throws during the stretch.  Ganton’s third trey of the run brought the Foresters to within ten at 63-53 with 13:01 left to play.  HC continued to battled and a tip-in by Chase Verba cut the lead to eight at 87-79 with 1:46 remaining, but the Foresters could get no closer.  For the game the Foresters out-shot IUPUI 55.3% to 52.3% and went 24-29 from the line (82.8%) as compared to the Jaguars 15-27 (55.6), but it was the turnovers total that was the difference in the game.  HC turned the ball over 24 times to just 11 for IUPUI.  Steve Snider went 8-10 from the field and 6-8 from the line for 22 points and added eight rebounds to lead the Foresters.  Ganton scored 19 points, all in the second half, and Verba and Alex Kock each chipped in 14.  The Jaguars were led by George Hill’s 26.  The loss drops the men to 6-4 on the season.
