02.26.05 - In semi-final action of the Mid-Central Conference (MCC) Tournament, the NAIA 7th-ranked  Foresters (22-9) cruised to a 93-61 win over the visiting Lancers of Grace College (18-12).  A layup by Grace’s Marcus Moore gave the Lancers their only lead of the game at 13-11 seven minutes into the contest.   Back-to-back jumpers from Kyle Ganton re-claimed the lead for Huntington and ignited a 12-0 run that put the Foresters up 23-13 midway through the half.  The Lancers battled back to within two at 25-23 with 8:05 on the clock, but Huntington answered with a 12-4 run to push the lead back to 37-27.  Following another lay-in by Moore, the Foresters closed out the period with a 13-0 run to take a comfortable 50-29 lead at intermission.  Grace’s Kyle Johnson dropped in a jumper at the start of the second half to get the deficit under 20, but the Lancers would not get that close again.  The Foresters put it on cruise control and left no doubt, pushing the lead to as many as 35 with four minutes to play.  Ganton, who went 7-9 from the field and 4-4 from the line for Huntington, took game-high honors with his 19 points.  Doug Sheckler added 17 off the bench and Alex Kock chipped in 15.  Moore led the Lancers with 15 points.  The win moves Huntington to the championship game of the MCC Tournament on Tuesday, March 1.  The top-seeded Foresters will host the 2nd-seeded Trojans of Taylor University at 7:00 p.m.
