03.16.05 - The National Association of Intercollegiate
Athletics (NAIA) has announced the Division II Men’s Basketball
All-American awards for the 2004-05 season. Sophomores Foresters Alex Kock
and Kyle Ganton earned second-team and honorable mention honors,
respectively. The Foresters concluded the season with a 22-11 overall
record and their fifth appearance in the NAIA National Tournament in
Branson, Missouri.
Kock, a
Physical
Education and Health major from Auburn, Indiana (DeKalb High
School), led the Foresters
this season in scoring (18.3), rebounds (8.3), and steals (31).
Nationally, Kock
was 11th in Division II in defensive rebounds averaging 6.58
per game.
Kyle Ganton,
an Elementary
Education major from Coldwater, Michigan (Bronson High School),
was Huntington's second leading
scorer, averaging 14.3 points per game. Ganton also was clutch at
the foul line, knocking down 112 of 129 attempts for a team-leading
86.8%. Ganton ranked seventh nationally in Division II in with
his free throw percentage.
