- The NAIA 4th-ranked Foresters used some stingy defense to pick up the 68-58
win on the road over the Indiana Wesleyan Wildcats. HU's defense
held the Wildcats scoreless for a seven minute stretch in the first
half to build a commanding 14-point lead at 22-8 with 5:26 to go in
the half. The Foresters out-scored IWU 13-10 to finish out the
half and headed into the break up 35-18.
HU continued to cruise in the second
half, leading by as many as 22 on several occasions. They were
still up 18 at 66-48 with 1:42, but got out-scored 10-2 down the
stretch to make the final margin of victory 68-58.
HU's Alex Kock took game-high honors
with 18 points and eight rebounds in the contest. Kyle Ganton
added 12 points and five assists and Jared Yoder went 4-5 from the
field for 10 points. Brandon McCorkle paced the Wildcats with 14
points and eight boards.
For the game, the Foresters shot 47% (29-62) and held IWU to 33%
(23-70) shooting from the field.
