11.07.05 - The NAIA 7th-ranked Foresters (1-0) lived up to their billing in their season opener, routing Urbana University 102-57.  Urbana led for the first five minutes of the game, but an Alex Kock layup at the 14:51 mark broke an 11-11 tie and gave HU the lead for good.  The Foresters put together a 14-3 run over the next three minutes to build a double digit lead and then out-scored the Blue Knights 19-4 over the final eight minutes of the half to take a 57-29 lead to the locker room.

HU picked up where it left off to begin the second period.  The Foresters put an 11-0 run on Urbana over the first five minutes to put the game out of reach.  HU led by as many as 49 points at 100-51 with just under two minutes to play.  Seven Foresters reached double digits in the scoring column with Kyle Benge leading the team with 20 off the bench.  Benge was 7-10 from the floor including 4-7 from behind the arc and was 2-2 from the line.  Kock added 18 points and nine rebounds.  Steve Snider picked up a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds in the game.  Kyle Ganton dropped in 14 points off the bench.  Doug Sheckler and Ty Riddle added 11 points apiece and Chase Verba contributed 10.  Will Hall was the lone Blue Knight to reach double figures with 12.

For the game, the Foresters shot 53% (42-80) from the field, 36% (10-28) from 3-point range and 73% (8-11) from the charity stripe.  They out-rebounded Urbana 53-29 and committed 14 turnovers to 18 for the Blue Knights.
