02.01.06 - Huntington University junior forward, Alex Kock, of Auburn, Indiana (DeKalb High School), has been named the NAIA Division II Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the week ending January 29.  Kock is the first in Forester history to earn the national recognition.  The honor comes after earning Player of the Week honors for the second consecutive week in the Mid-Central College Conference (MCC).

Kock averaged 25 points and 12.5 rebounds per game as the team went 2-0 on the week.  He had 22 points, four assists and a career-high 18 rebounds as NAIA DII #2 Huntington defeated NAIA DII #7 Taylor 71-60 on Saturday afternoon.  He also was a perfect 7-7 at the free throw line.  In Tuesday’s 65-62 win over St. Francis, he poured in a game-high 28 points on 10-17 shooting and added seven rebounds.   Kock is currently leading the MCC in scoring with his 21.5 average and is third in rebounding at 8.42 boards per game.
