- After holding a slim two-point advantage at the break, the NAIA 2nd-ranked
Foresters (2-1) shot 70% from the field in the second half to pick up
the 88-76 win on the road over St. Ambrose University (1-1).
Huntington took a 41-39 lead to the locker room, but then went 14-20
from the field in the second half to put the Bees away.
HU's Alex Kock topped all scorers in the game with 29 points and made
it a double-double with 11 rebounds. Doug Sheckler added 20
points, going 8-10 from the field and 3-3 for the line. Kyle
Ganton and Kyle Benge both finished with 13 points.
Brett Cole scored
19 points to lead four double figure scorers for St. Ambrose.
Adam Fahrenkrog added a double-double with 16 points and 11 boards.
Chris Washington chipped in 13 points and four assists and Alex Burkle
had 10 points.
The Foresters shot
55.6% (26-47) for the game while the Bees were 27-68 for 39.7%.
St. Ambrose won the battle of the boards 35-32 and had 16 turnovers to
19 for the Foresters.
