- In a battle between two NAIA powerhouses, it was the #2-ranked Foresters that
got the best of #19-ranked Indiana Tech 94-88.
Indiana Tech used
its home court advantage to build a nine-point lead at the half at
45-36, but bolstered by the long range shooting of Kyle Benge, HU dropped
in 58 points in the second half to spoil the Warriors' upset bid.
Alex Kock led all
scorers in the game with 29 points on 12-16 shooting, including 2-2
from behind the arc and he grabbed a game-high nine rebounds.
Benge chipped in 25 going 6-13 from the field, 3-5 from 3-point range
and 10-12 from the line. Kyle Ganton finished with 19 points.
Jonathan Battle led
four Warriors in double figures with 21 points. Maurice Benson
added 20, James Lewis scored 19 and pulled down seven boards and
Harold Haynes finished with 14 points.
The Foresters shot
54% for the game (34-63) and 76% from the line (16-21) while Indiana
Tech was 37-70 from the field for 53% and 6-11 at the stripe for 55%.
