- The NAIA Division II 5th-ranked Foresters (25-4, 13-2) slowly built an
eight-point halftime advantage and kept Goshen College (12-17, 4-11)
at arms length in the second half to earn the 71-58 victory on the
road. The
Maple Leafs hung with HU for about 18 minutes as they were down just
four with 2:29 left in the first half, but a 6-2 run to close the half
gave the Foresters a 37-29 lead at the break.
In the second
half, HU pushed the half-time margin to 13 over the first eight
minutes of play. The lead was still 12 at 62-50 with 5:50 to

three-pointers later, Goshen pulled within seven at 64-57 with 3:24 on
the clock. Luke Smith squelched the rally attempt with his own
trey on HU's next possession to push the Foresters' lead back to
double digits where it remained with a final 13-point margin.

game-high honors with 23 points and nine rebounds. Kyle Ganton
added 19 points and Smith finished with 13 for the Foresters.
