02.19.07 - The Mid-Central Conference (MCC) announced its post-season awards for the 2006-07 basketball season and six Huntington University Foresters were among the list of honorees.

For the men, senior Alex Kock, was the unanimous choice for the Player of the Year award.  It is the third consecutive year that Kock has earned the honor.  Senior Kyle Ganton was runner-up to Kock in the voting and joins him on the MCC’s First Team.  Huntington junior Doug Sheckler was a Third Team selection and senior Jared Yoder was among the Honorable Mention honorees.

Other First Team selections included Mike Campbell (St. Francis), Joel Tonagel (Indiana Wesleyan) and William Walker (Bethel).  Errick McCollum of Goshen received the Newcomer of the Year award and St. Francis coach, Jeff Rekeweg, was named the MCC Coach of the Year.

On the women’s side, senior Amy Berry repeated as a First Team selection and freshman Jenna Donaldson was named the MCC Newcomer of the Year.  Joining Berry on the First Team was MCC Player of the Year Liz Howerth (Indiana Wesleyan), Natalie Young (Bethel), Nikki Lewis (St. Francis) and Katie Madden (Taylor).  Indiana Wesleyan’s Steve Brooks was named the MCC Coach of the Year.
