- Huntington
University senior forward Alex Kock
added yet another accolade to his growing list of basketball honors.
On Tuesday, February 6, the NAIA First Team All-American joined an
elite group of Huntington alumni by scoring the 2000th
point of his career in a 72-54 win over Spring Arbor University. What
makes the accomplishment even more impressive is that he reached the
milestone in just 97 games spanning less than three years. Kock, who
transferred to Huntington after playing for Wright State University as
a freshman, is the fifth Forester to reach the 2000-point plateau.
His current total of 2016 puts him fifth on the all-time scoring list,
175 points behind 2000 graduate, Gabe LaGrange, who scored 2191 points
during his career.
Kock, the two-time
Mid-Central Conference (MCC) Player of the Year, is currently leading
the MCC in scoring with his 23.3 average and his 9.9 rebounds per game
is second best. He has recorded 17 double-doubles on the season and
has helped lead the Foresters to a 23-4 record and a current 8th-place
ranking in the latest NAIA Division II polls. |
