Huntington University senior forward, Alex
Kock, of Auburn, Indiana (DeKalb High School),
has been named the NAIA Division II Men's Basketball
Player of the Week for the week ending February 11. This marks the
second time in Kock’s career that he has received the honor after
earning the national recognition last season in late January. The
honor comes after earning his sixth
Player of the Week
award this season in the Mid-Central College Conference (MCC).
For the week, Kock
averaged 30.5 points
and 10.5 rebounds per game, while also eclipsing the 2,000-point mark
in Huntington's win over Spring Arbor.
Kock helped Huntington to a 2-0 week that included a
win over No. 3 Indiana Wesleyan, a game in which he scored 31 and
pulled down 10 rebounds. Kock also had two assists, a block and a
steal against IWU and finished the game 5-of-5 from behind the arc.
Despite only five attempts at the foul line, Kock was
80 percent knocking down four, also finishing the week 7-of-10 on
3-point attempts and 25-of-40 from the field. In addition to his 31
points against IWU, Kock dropped in 30 against Spring Arbor. |
