11.21.07 - The Foresters (5-2) made it five wins in a row with a convincing 96-73 victory on the road over a previously undefeated St. Xavier University (5-1).  HU ‘s hot shooting was the difference in the game as Foresters sizzled the nets at better than 65% from the field in both halves and finished the game 36-54 for 67%.  Distance didn’t seem to matter much as HU also shot 64% (9-14) from behind the arc.

The Foresters were able to build a double-digit lead early in the first half and led by 20, 45-25, at the halftime break. In the second half, SXU tried to make a run scoring 48 points in the period, but HU kept control with continued sharp shooting and dropped in 51 points of their own to hand the Cougars their first loss of the season.

Leading the Forester barrage from the field was Doug Sheckler with a 12-14 shooting performance for a game-high 26 points.  Kyle Benge hit 9 of 12 attempts off the bench for 22.  Tyler Shively was 5-7, including 3-4 from downtown and 4-4 from the line for 17 and he dished out eight assists.  Kevin Kyle finished with another double-double with 15 points and a game-high 11 boards and Luke Smith was a perfect 4-4 from the field and 2-2 at the stripe for 11 off the bench.  Alok Aiyar led SXU in scoring with 16 points.

HU edged the Cougars in rebounds 35-34 and committed 15 turnovers to 13 for SXU.
