11.07.07 - Twenty-four turnovers and a sub-par shooting performance led to the Foresters' demise in their season opener as Indiana Tech downed HU 86-67.

The Foresters kept pace with Indiana Tech through the first 13 minutes of play and held a slim 25-24 lead at the 6:52 mark.  The two teams traded baskets over the next two and a half minutes with the Warriors leading 30-29 with 4:21 left in the half.  Down the stretch, the Foresters went cold from the field and a couple miscues allowed Tech to put together a 16-5 run to take a 48-36 lead at the break.

The Warriors picked up where they left off as the second half began out-scoring HU 7-2 over the first 3:30 to increase their lead to 55-36.  The Foresters clawed their way back within single digits at 61-52 with 11:17 to go, but then committed four turnovers on their next five possessions allowing Tech to regain their 19-point advantage.  A lay-up by Kyle Benge at the 6:42 mark cut it to 13 at 72-59, but it was as close as HU would get the rest of the way.

Indiana Tech's Anthony Jones topped all scorers in the contest with 24 points.  Shaun Cabrera added 16 off the bench and Brad Webster finished with 14.  Kevin Kyle led the Foresters with a 12 points and 14 boards.  Benge chipped in 12 points and Tyler Shively added 10.  The Warriors went 35-61 from the floor for 57.4% while HU was 24-58 for 41.4%.
