11.25.08 - The Foresters (6-3) had to overcome a poor-shooting first half and as much as a 12-point deficit to get the come-from-behind 86-76 win over NAIA Division I 25th-ranked Olivet Nazarene University.

The lead went back and forth early in the game and was tied 10-10 at the 15:44 mark.  The Tigers then went on a 14-2 run giving them their largest lead of the game at 24-12.  Following a timeout, HU's defense got in gear and sparked a 10-0 answer that cut the deficit back to two at 24-22.  HU would get as close as one at 36-35 with 2:30 left in the period, but headed to the locker room down six at 43-37.

Olivet Nazarene continued to keep the Foresters at bay maintaining a lead through the opening seven minutes of the second half.  HU finally pulled even at 54-54 at the 12:50 mark and then took the lead for good on a Luke Smith jumper a little over a minute later.  The Foresters built an eight-point advantage only to have the Tigers draw within one at 73-72 with 3:50 to play.

On HU's next possession, the Foresters worked the ball around and found Smith open on the perimeter and he knocked down the three to put HU in front 76-72.  The Foresters were still up four at the 1:47 mark when Olivet Nazarene began to send them to the charity stripe.  HU went 8-10 at the line down the stretch to seal the win.

Kevin Kyle paced the Foresters with 19 points and eight rebounds in the game.  Kyle Benge finished with 18 points and four assists. Tyler Shively, who extended his school record streak for consecutive free throws to 70 with a 10-10 performance at line, added 16 points and seven rebounds and Smith finished with 12 points.  Tyler Wallenfang topped three Tigers in double figures with 21 points.  Antonio Marshall had 19 points and Rashad Mitchell chipped in 12 points and a game-high nine boards.

After shooting just 34.5% from the field in the first half, HU turned things around with a 56% performance in the second to finish at 44.4% for the game.  The Foresters made a living at the line hitting 35 of 40 free throws for 87.5% while Olivet Nazarene was 13-20 for 65%.
