12.20.08 - The Foresters (10-4) picked up their tenth win of the season with a convincing 93-72  win over Shawnee State University (5-7).

HU got off to a quick start scoring the first eight points of the contest.  The Foresters pushed the lead to 17 points on a Kyle Benge lay-up and led 21-4 with 13 minutes remaining in the first half.

Shawnee State came alive to hold the Foresters to two points over the next eight minutes of play and trimmed the HU lead to 23-22.  Geoff Scheetz hit two consecutive three-pointers to re-ignite the Foresters as HU pumped in 23 additional points in the final 6 minutes of the half and took a 46-27 advantage to the break.

In the second half, the Bears were able to get within 15 points of HU, but it was as close as they would get during the final 20 minutes of play.

Tyler Shively took team high honors for the Foresters with 19 points on 6 of 12 shooting. Three other Foresters joined Shively in double figures.  Kevin Kyle had 16 points and 8 rebounds, Kellen Zawadzki scored 15 and Luke Smith chipped in 11.  Shawnee State’s Keelyn Franklin topped all scorers in the game with 21 points.  Joining Franklin in double figures for the Bears were Justin Patrick with 16 and Aaron Pennington with 12.
