02.10.09 - After owning as much as an 18-point lead early in the second half, the Foresters (17-10, 6-7) held off a feisty Goshen College squad for the 80-76 victory.

The Maple Leafs held a 10-7 advantage early in the contest, but HU scored 10 unanswered points to jump in front 17-10 at the 13:13 mark.  After trading baskets, the Foresters added another string of nine points to push the lead to 16 at 28-12 with a little over nine minutes left in the period.  HU maintained the margin the remainder of the half and headed to the locker room up 48-33.

Over the first six minutes of the second half, the Foresters continued to keep their double digit lead, but Goshen didn't go away.  The Leafs shaved seven points off the deficit to pull within nine at 63-54 at the 12:14 mark and then used an 11-4 run to storm back within two at 67-65 with 6:50 to play.  Down the stretch, Goshen could not manage to get any closer.  Tyler Shively and Kyle Benge took over at the offensive end scoring HU's final 13 points between them to seal the coveted road win.

Shively topped five Foresters in double digits with 20 points. Benge finished with 15.  Kevin Kyle and Caleb Kennedy both added 14 and Kellen Zawadzki finished with 12.  Errick McCollum II took game-high honors with 28 points and nine rebounds for Goshen.  Nate Manning chipped in 11 points and Bryce Bow had 10.
