Huntington University senior, Kyle Benge, was named the Mid-Central
Conference Player of the Week for the week of February 9-15, 2009. Benge,
an elementary/special education major from Plymouth, Indiana
(Plymouth High School), helped lead the Foresters to a 2-0 week with
his 17.5 average during the two games.
In Tuesday’s 80-76 win over Goshen, he scored 15 points on 3-7
shooting and a 9-10 performance at the line. He followed that up
with a double-double in Saturday’s 87-75 win over Spring Arbor with
20 points and 10 assists. He was 7-13 from the field and a perfect
5-5 at the stripe. Benge is leading the Foresters (18-10, 7-7) in
scoring this season with his 18.7 average and also dishes out 4.5
assists per game.
