Angola High School senior standout, Chris
Kent, has signed a Letter of Intent to
continue his basketball career at Huntington University
next fall. In his final campaign, the 5’10 guard averaged 18
points, 7 assists, 4 rebounds and 2 steals per game for the
Hornets.
Kent also earned several accolades throughout his career including
All-Conference honors in the Northeast Corner Conference as a
sophomore, junior and senior. He also was an All-Area selection his
final two seasons.
Huntington University head coach, Ty Platt, is looking forward to
Kent’s contributions. “We are excited to have Chris as part of our
basketball program. He is a very good point guard who is strong,
handles the ball well, sees the floor, and can score. Along with a
passion for the game, Chris is a quality young man who we fully
expect to have a great career at H.U."
During the past decade, the Huntington University men’s basketball
program has won five Mid-Central Conference (MCC) titles, five MCC
tournament titles, and has had seven NAIA National Tournament
appearances, including two Final Fours and a National Runner-Up
finish in 2006. Over the 10-year span, the program also has produced
12 NAIA All-Americans and eight MCC Players of the Year and has had
eight consecutive seasons with 20 or more wins. |
